1. VSD 5.6.4 Release Notes

Overview

Visual Statistics Display (VSD) version 5.6.4 is a new release of the VSD product, fixing a significant bug.

These release notes describe changes between the previous version of VSD, version 5.6.3, and version 5.6.4.

This version of VSD supports statmonitor files generated from:

All versions of GemStone/S 64 Bit™
All versions of 32-bit GemStone/S
All versions of GemBuilder™ for Smalltalk (GBS)

Supported Platforms

VSD version 5.6.4 is verified and supported on the following platforms:

(64-bit) Windows 10 and Windows 11
Red Hat Enterprise Server/CentOS/Rocky Linux 7.x, 8.x, and 9.x; Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 on x86; and Ubuntu 24.04 on Raspberry Pi 5 (arm)
macOS 15.x (Sequoia) and 13.x (Ventura), on x86 and Apple silicon (arm).

VSD is expected to work on older versions of these platforms, but have not been tested and are not officially supported.

Changes in this Release

Time offset calculated incorrectly on Windows

On Windows, the time offset was not processed correctly when reading a data file. In the resulting main window, the StartTime and EndTime are either 0, for negative timezone offsets, such as PDT) or 12/31, for positive offsets such as CEST. (#51567)
