1. VSD 5.6.7 Release Notes

Overview

Visual Statistics Display (VSD) version 5.6.7 is a new release of the VSD product, improving support for viewing very large statmonitor data sets.

These release notes describe changes between the previous version of VSD, version 5.6.5, and version 5.6.7. Version 5.6.6 was not released.

This version of VSD supports statmonitor files generated from:

All versions of GemStone/S 64 Bit™
All versions of 32-bit GemStone/S
All versions of GemBuilder™ for Smalltalk (GBS)

Supported Platforms

VSD version 5.6.7 is verified and supported on the following platforms:

(64-bit) Windows 11
Red Hat Enterprise Server/CentOS/Rocky Linux 7.x, 8.x, 9.x, and 10.x; Ubuntu 22.04 and 24.04 on x86_64; Ubuntu 24.04 on arm64; Debian 12 and 13.
macOS 15.x (Sequoia) and 13.x (Ventura) on Apple silicon (arm64).

VSD is expected to work on older versions of these platforms, but have not been tested and are not certified.

Changes in this Release

Recompiled with updated Tcl Libraries

This version of VSD has been compiled with v1.21; there are some changes in what is included in the lib directory of the distribution.

Ability to hide recently added stat types

In v3.7, a number of stat types were added to track threads in a multithreaded process. The following types can now be hidden using menu items under Hide Instances By Type....
